 About the Department: 

The department of economics was introduced at the time of establishment of the college in 1961 and taught both honours and non- honours courses of economics in the undergraduate level only. The department has a well furnished departmental common room along with other departments of the college .

 Vision:

To become an institute of excellence department of the institution with standards at par with the State and National level and to serve as quality human resource provider to the Society.

 Mission:

i) To make policies and atmosphere to attract students.

ii) To create an ambience in which new ideas and cutting edge research flourish through the available or given curriculum and infrastructure so as to produce the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.

iii) To produce ethically strong & morally elevated human resource to serve mankind.

iv) To be top among the department of North Bank College.

 Facilities:

The department has a well furnished departmental common room with a set of computer (Desktop) for the teachers. They can stay there with their teaching materials, read and take rest. Through there is no internet facility in the department, the teachers and students can take the advantage of the installed internet facility in the computer lab and the central library.

 Course Programme:

As the college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, the department follows the course prescribed by the university. Currently the department offers UG curriculum of economics under CBCS, which has been designed by Dibrugarh University and in effect since 2019. Accordingly the department offers Honours, Generic Elective and Non-Honours courses.

 Future Plan:

1. Organize motivational programme to increase enrolment in the department.

2. Organize various academic activities for quality enhancement of students.

3. Frequently organize career counseling programme for supporting students to entry into job and higher education.

4. Introduce job oriented add on course.
