About  the Department:

           The Department of Physics of North Bank College was established in 1996. This department offers higher secondary and degree courses (both Major         and  Non-Major) as per the prescribed syllabus of AHSEC and Dibrugarh University, respectively.

          The department is actively involved in environmental, different nanomaterial’s and Rare Earth materials related research projects. The department has strength of 3 experienced faculty members and one contractual faculty (members with M. Phil 01 and 2persuing Ph. D). The Dept. of Physics publishes a  wall magazine named "PHYSICA" annually where the students of the department express their literary creativity through poems, short stories, prose and   printing. The department is mainly provided the academic activities of the teachers and students, helping to the poor students, mentoring and motivating  students and participating departmental seminars/webinars and guardian meet. The department plays an important role in different science based  activities and organizes various types of workshop, seminars, quiz competition and awareness campaign. Apart from such activities, students are also encouraged to take part in various programs and activities of NCC, NSS, Computer course and youth festival etc.

      Mission:

     1. To inculcate the importance of basic science.

     2. To create and maintain programs of excellence in the areas of research education and public outreach.

    3. To understand the importance of Physics to the society and environment and to develop a natural attachment among students this can turn the students         into a qualified professional.

    4. We faster and encourage the prescient of new knowledge in physical sciences and develop a natural flair which in turn shall mound the student into a             competent professional.

     5. To impart and enhance the advanced knowledge and skills of physics to offer effective solutions to the industries through research and consultancy and          to address rural needs by eco-friendly solutions through research.

    Vision:

1. The Dept. of Physics introduced innovative teaching methodologies and evaluation strategies for the benefit of the students.
2. To provide strong fundamental in science and Technology in the undergraduate level degree program and to develop research activities in physics.
3. The Dept. of Physics strives for excellence in all aspects of teaching and researches, to produce Graduates of high quality required in academic/research organization and serve the society at national and international students.
